InBody Cellular Analysis

Here at F1rst Class Fitness we value accountability and accurate measure of body composition.

Therefore, we like to use objective scientific measurement of body composition using the InBody Composition Analyser.

Whether you are answerable to yourself or to one of our friendly staff, a regular InBody scan is a great way to see if the hard work in both the gym and the kitchen is paying off. Gone are the days where we stand on the scales or use inaccurate skin fold callipers, now there is a better way.

So, what does an InBody Scan measure?

The InBody body composition analyser provides a detailed report outlining an individual’s measurements in such things as but not limited to:

  • Total skeletal muscle mass
  • Total body fat in kilograms
  • Total body fat percentage
  • Visceral fat
  • Total body water
  • Segmental muscle and fat analysis
  • Bone mineral content
  • Basal metabolic rate

I’m unique…. Will my InBody scan show me that?

Yes. InBody’s patented technology is unique and it scans you for you. InBody is the only BIA device that does not require inputted age and gender data. This means that the results simply speak for themselves and this is what sets InBody apart from other devices. InBody does not use any assumptions in its assessment and provides results which are extremely precise and as unique as the person standing on them. However, before we run an analysis, we do request age and gender simply as a means of providing relevant guidelines on your result sheet. This allows you to compare your results against a broad-spectrum average. In other words, you could change your age and gender on an InBody device and your results will not change as YOU have not changed.

The non-use of any assumptions is what sets InBody’s technology apart from all others and is one of the underpinning reasons why InBody is used in extensive studies and utilised by top sports people, medical institutions, NASA and currently in use in over 70 countries worldwide.

So how does InBody measure my bodies composition?

InBody works by controlling the path of high frequency waves through your body. Electric current has a different penetration force depending on frequency. Low frequencies travel down the flow of the external surface water and are unable to penetrate the cell wall, thus measuring the water content outside of the cell.

A higher frequency will measure the water content inside of the cell because it penetrates the cell wall. By using a diverse set of frequencies, the InBody can measure water contents inside and outside the cell separately.

Also, with the usage of several different frequencies, we can provide more information on body composition because more resistance values are attained.
